Terms of Service
Updated
These terms apply to the use of www.istanbultranslators.com and to the translation services offered under the Istanbul Translators name. If we agree different terms with you in writing, for example in a quote or a corporate agreement, those terms prevail where they differ.
1. Service provider
The data controller is Burak Ünal, who runs Istanbul Translators (www.istanbultranslators.com) as a sole proprietorship. Address: Merkez Mahallesi Hasat Sokak No:12/2, Şişli, 34384 İstanbul, Türkiye. Email: contact@istanbultranslators.com. Telephone: +90 539 415 31 39.
2. What we do, and what we do not do
We provide sworn and certified translation, arrange notarisation of translations by Turkish notaries and apostille certification when you ask for them, and offer interpreting and website translation. We are not a notary, a court, a consulate, a government agency or a law firm, we do not act on behalf of any of them, and we do not give legal or immigration advice.
3. Acceptance by the receiving authority
Whether a translated document is accepted is decided solely by the institution that receives it. Requirements (sworn translation, notarisation, apostille, consular legalisation, or a translation made in a particular country) differ between institutions and change over time. Please confirm them with the receiving institution before you order; we will tell you what we know, but we cannot guarantee acceptance.
4. Quotes and orders
- Prices depend on the language pair, the length and type of the document, the certification level (translation only, sworn, notarised, apostille) and the deadline. We give a quote after seeing the document.
- An order is confirmed when you accept our quote. Any advance payment is stated in the quote.
- Notary and apostille fees are set by official tariffs and authorities, not by us, and are shown in the quote where they apply.
- Turnaround times are estimates. Notarisation and apostille depend on the working hours and workload of the notary and the issuing authority.
5. Your documents and information
- You confirm that the documents you give us are genuine and that you are entitled to share them, including the personal data of other people named in them.
- A sworn translation renders the source document faithfully. We cannot add, remove or correct content that is in the source; illegible parts are marked as illegible.
- Please give us the spelling of names exactly as it appears in the passport or official identity document to be used, so that names match across your documents.
- Check names, numbers and dates as soon as you receive the translation. If a mistake is ours, we correct it free of charge.
6. Cancellation
You can cancel an order at any time. Work already completed, and notary or apostille fees already paid on your behalf, are charged. Under the Distance Contracts Regulation, the right of withdrawal does not apply to services whose performance has started with your approval before the withdrawal period ends, or to work prepared to your personal specifications.
7. Confidentiality and personal data
We keep your documents confidential. Personal data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy and KVKK Information Notice and the Cookie Policy.
8. Information on this website
Articles and guides are general information, prepared carefully and dated. They are not legal advice and may not reflect the latest changes in requirements. Contact us about your specific document.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a translation is limited to the fee paid for it. This does not limit liability for intent or gross negligence (Turkish Code of Obligations Art. 115) or any non-waivable consumer right under Law No. 6502. We are not liable for decisions of receiving institutions, or for delays caused by notaries, authorities, couriers or events beyond our reasonable control.
10. Intellectual property
The texts, images, logo and design of this website may not be copied or used commercially without written permission. Translations we deliver are for your own use for the purpose you ordered them for.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan) have jurisdiction. Consumers may also apply to the consumer arbitration committee or consumer court of their place of residence, within the monetary limits set each year under Law No. 6502.
12. Versions and changes
If a provision is invalid, the rest remains in force. We may update these terms; the date of the current version is shown at the top. If translations differ, the Turkish version prevails: Hizmet Şartları.
