A sworn Korean to Turkish translation is made by a translator who has taken an oath before a Turkish notary. That oath is what lets a notary certify the translation, and it is why Turkish offices, courts and consulates accept it where an ordinary translation is not enough.

Names and script
Korea replaced the old family head registry in 2008 with the family relation certificate system, so older and newer documents look different and record different fields. Korean romanisation is also not fixed: the same surname appears as Kim or Gim, and Lee, Yi or Rhee, depending on which system was used and when. We follow the passport spelling and reproduce the hangul.
Before you send it
Korean documents are authenticated in Korea before translation, and the certificates are issued by the district office rather than the hospital or the place of birth. Request a recent copy, because Turkish offices generally want a current extract rather than an old one.

Frequently asked questions
Which Korean certificate corresponds to a birth certificate?
The basic certificate records the birth entry, and the family relation certificate shows parentage. Turkish offices usually want both, and we translate them together.
My surname is romanised differently on older documents.
That is common, because Korea changed romanisation systems. We use the passport spelling in the Turkish text and reproduce the hangul so the notary can see the source.
Do you also translate from Turkish into Korean?
Yes. We work in both directions - Korean to Turkish and Turkish to Korean.
